Lions Youth of the Year Club Final 2010
On Wednesday 17th
February 2010 the Edwardstown Youth of the Year Club final was conducted
at the meeting at the Marion Hotel. Approximately 50 people attended
including Lions Ladies, family and teachers of the two students. The
preliminary interviews had taken place previously.
After replying to two
impromptu questions each, Kevin Mendosa from Hamilton College spoke on
“Dance” and Saxon Cameron from Immanuel College spoke on “Australian
Bavarian Exchange”. Both were delightful young men and the judges had
difficulty in making the decisions.
Kevin was declared the Public
Speaking Award winner and Saxon the overall Youth of the Year Club
winner. Saxon went on to the District Final on March 21st but
was unsuccessful in moving on to the Zone Final. All the students showed
exceptional maturity and qualities which we trust will carry them on to
successful adulthood.
