Ladies Auxiliary

 

The Edwardstown Lions Ladies’ Auxiliary was formed in February, 1963, with 26 members.  Since then the auxiliary has met monthly for a dinner meeting. In 1975 when the Lioness program began, the ladies decided that they would stay as they were, and not change over to a Lioness Club. Today, some 39 years later, the auxiliary with 25 members is stronger than ever, performing projects of their own through our club and also being involved in club projects. Recent News This year members of the Ladies Auxiliary along with partners and friends celebrated a “Christmas in July” luncheon at the Marion Hotel. A bus trip to the Virginia Nursery has been arranged for August. We hope there is enough space in the bus to accommodate our plant purchases. The Melbourne Cup Luncheon will again be our major event and fundraiser. This will be held at the Glenelg Golf Club on November 2nd. Guest speaker topics at meetings will include  “Wedgewood China – End of an Era”,  “History of the Film Industry” and “Travelling with dialysis patients”. Visitors are welcome to the meetings, which are held at the Marion Hotel, Marion Road, Mitchell Park, 6.45pm for 7.00pm on the 4th Wednesday of each month
