The
Lions Club of Edwardstown was formed on April 11, 1962, with 22
members. District Governor William R Tresise MBE, the founder of
Lionism in Australia presented the charter on November 17, 1962,
at the Castle Hotel, South Road, Edwardstown. The club was
chartered with 32 members. The Charter President was Doug “Darky”
Miller, Charter Secretary was Ron Miels and the Charter Night
Chairman was Doug Omond. |
